Broadband for Farlington
All of the local residents who have lived in Farlington for more than two years may remember that David carried out a survey of the Broadband speeds that were available to telephone users in our immediate area. The results were used to reinforce our arguments for a Fibre link from Stillington (or Sherrif Hutton) to Farlington. The situation has moved on and BT considers that it has fulfilled its commitment to provide HSBB to local rural areas but we do not appear to be receiving the, frequently promised, improved connectivity. Farlington village hall sits opposite St Leonards Church on the village green. It dates back to the 1800’s and was left to the village in perpetuity by the Methodist Church. It was once the village school.
The hall became a registered charity in 1964 and has four Managing Trustees. It has been sympathetically restored whist trying to retain some original features. There is a small main hall with wood burner, tables and chairs and a well-stocked kitchen with microwave, coffee machine and fridge.
Although we do not have mains water, this is provided via water containers. There is a portaloo for your convenience.

Events are held in the village hall throughout the year to include music nights, pop-up tea room, jumble sales and supper nights. Upcoming events are advertised here on our website.
If you are interested in hiring the hall for an event or meeting, please email secretary@farlington.org.uk. The price is £10 per hour.
