Chairman welcomed all to the meeting.

  1. Apologies for absence

Apologies received from David Waring, Lynne & Paul Lawrie and Mike Scotter.

  1. Approval of minutes of previous Parish Meeting(AGM, Oct 2024)

Minutes approved without amendment.

  1. Approval of Parish Accounts for FY24/25

Treasurer reported a sum of £1362.62 was carried forward from FY 23/24. An income of £520 had been received into the Parish account comprising the precept and allotment rental. Expenditure from the Parish account was £429.38 comprising grass cutting fees, hedgerow cutting, hire of village hall by Parish meeting, new defibrillator battery and purchase of village Christmas tree. Funds carried forward to FY25/26 commencing 1st April 2025 are £1453.24.

Parish accounts and Annual Governance Statement (App. A) were approved by the Parish Meeting and the usual exemption from a Limited Audit Review under Government permissions for Parish Meetings with income/expenditure under £25,000 will be applied for by deadline of 30th June 2025 (PKF Littlejohn LLP Form AGAR 2pm).

Parishioners may exercise their public rights to inspect the accounts and both these and the AGAR forms/Certificate of Exemption will be available for inspection by display on the public Parish noticeboard in the village from 3rd June to 14th July 2025.   1. Update on planning applications

Clerk gave an update on two planning applications relevant to Farlington. Firstly, the development at Farlington Lodge: This application has now been withdrawn. No further information at this time.

Secondly, the traveller site at Cornborough: North Yorkshire Council have refused planning permission for a traveller site and dog breeding business at Cornborough. However, Mr Sykes, the applicant, has now appealed to the Secretary of State to try to get this decision overturned. No further information at this time.
