Saturday, 11th December, 6pm.
Come along and enjoy a pre-Christmas village get-together with a glass or two of mulled wine, nibbles and mince pies. The big switch on will take place at around 6.30pm followed by a few carols to get us in the Christmas spirit (if the mulled wine hasn’t already done that!).
After what seems to have been a very long winter, we are pleased to announce that we are re-opening the door of St Leonard’s for public services.
Continue reading “St Leonard’s, Farlington”North Yorkshire County Council has now sent the government its bid for a mega-council, paired with the significantly smaller City of York unitary. The six district and borough councils of Craven, Harrogate, Richmondshire, Ryedale, Scarborough and Selby have submitted an alternative proposal for an “East and West” model of two unitary councils of a similar population and economic size. This would see Craven, Harrogate, Richmondshire and Hambleton join together to form a unitary council in the west, and Selby, York, Ryedale and Scarborough join together to form a unitary council in the east.

Of course things will have to be different. A one way system will be in place, all customers are to be seated, no dogs or small children are permitted in the pub but dogs are allowed in the beer garden. Numbers of customers will also be limited. Food will be served, via bookings only, on Mon, Wed, Fri and Sat evenings and for Sunday lunch. Sunday lunch deliveries still available for the village.
I’m sure we will all give Simon and Tracy the support they need whilst they implement all the new requirements and restrictions. Please be patient.
At long last we are able to unlock the Church doors and invite you to spend some time inside for private prayer and contemplation. Due to the extra cleaning regimes we are required to put in place, St. Leonard’s will initially be open every Tuesday and Saturday between 10.00am and 4.30 pm. We look forward very much to welcoming you all back.
The Churchyard continues to be cared for and remains open everyday for you to visit and spend some quiet time in reflection there.
