The Consultation
This consultation seeks to gather the views of individuals and groups currently on the legacy council’s registers, parish and town councils and Division Members (where there is no parish/town council) on the proposals to:
1. Introduce a local connection test for inclusion on Part 1 of the register. This requires a person to be a resident or have a proven connection with North Yorkshire as set out in the report (link above); and to
2. Introduce a fee of £123 for inclusion on Part 1 of the register.
Please note that the if a person has already paid a fee for inclusion on one of the former Self-build and Custom Housebuilding registers they will be exempt from paying this fee.
The consultation runs for 4 weeks with the deadline for submitting representation midnight on 23 November 2023 and all comments must be submitted in writing to
selfbuildnyc@northyorks.gov.uk.
Alternatively, they can be sent to the address at the bottom of this email marked for the attention of the Planning Policy Team.
Please note all comments received will be recorded, alongside the name of the person or organisation making the comment. Your email and address will not be shown but will be stored on our database and used to notify you of the outcome of the consultation.
