At the meeting of Cabinet on 6 November 2018 a revised Local Development Scheme (LDS) was approved. The LDS contains the timetable for production of the Hambleton Local Plan.

North Yorkshire County Council has given a warm welcome to the announcement that its bid for funding for superfast broadband was successful and that it is to receive £11.15million. Rural Affairs Minister Lord Gardiner announced the funding under the Rural Broadband Infrastructure Scheme during a visit to the North York Moors National Park.
